Road SMS: Walk and text at the same time with your Samsung Galaxy S

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, Samsung recently launched their custom Road SMS app available through the Samsung Apps store. Basically, this nifty little app turns on the camera and places a QWERTY keyboard over it. What’s the point you ask? Well now you can walk and text without having to look up. Simply look past the QWERTY keyboard every now and then to see what’s going on in front of you, otherwise you can keep on texting.

Unfortunately, the app is pretty limited in terms of functionality – you can only text, choose a recipient, and watch the character limit. Too bad you can’t access full menu functions while keeping the camera open in the background. In case you want to spy on the people around you, but don’t want to make it obvious, just launch the app and pretend to text. Hopefully we’ll see the app available on the Samsung Galaxy S variants in the States.
