RIM and AT&T plan special event for August 3

RIM and AT&T Invitation

RIM and AT&T began sending out invitations to an exclusive event to be held in NYC on August 3. It looks like the BlackBerry 9800 slider device will be announced and further information on OS 6. With the iPhone 4 and Android phones leading the smartphone charge, RIM hopes its latest BlackBerry device will be able to compete with the iPhone and Android devices. We’ll be on the lookout for any additional rumors on what might be announced at the press event. Be sure to check back on August 3 to see what’s announced.
