The webOS news has certainly become slow these days. And as a Palm fan (and user) I say that with a little sadness. But I still like to believe there is some hope of another turn around. That said, we do have some rumors floating around that a new Palm device may be coming to Sprint later this year. According to the details, the webOS device, which is still sporting the codename of C40, will be heading to Sprint as part of their fall device lineup.

Unfortunately, aside from rumor there is not much to this one just yet. Otherwise, the Palm C40 is expected to feature a 4 inch touchscreen LCD, 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, webOS 2.0 and a larger and more useful gesture area as compared to that of the current Pre and Pixi. All said and done, sounds good. But I would have to question if this is heading to Sprint. If nothing else, lets not see them make the same mistake with a long Sprint exclusive like they did with the original Pre.

And yes, these specs do seem to be changing. These latest differ from that of this C40 mockup. But hey, its all rumor at this point and things are bound to change.

  1. I was just at a Sprint Store in KC, MO today & when I asked about the next webOS phone, they pulled out a picture of of the C40 & said it should be out in the next couple of months…
