Contract free Android getting better, Cricket Wireless now has the Kyocera Zio

Looking for something Android and hoping for a contract free offering? How about the Kyocera Zio? The handset has come available with Cricket Wireless and will set you back $249.99 for the phone and $55 each month. Of course, that $55 per month is contract free and also comes with unlimited talk, text, web and email. As for the Kyocera Zio, the handset comes touting a 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 3G, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, 512MB internal storage and a microSD card slot. All things considered, it is not a high-end phone, but still a nice offering. The one catch here is that the Zio ships with Android 1.6. Kind of a bummer, but not necessarily a deal breaker either.
