It looks like Verizon is going to be making some changes in terms of 3G capable feature phones in the upcoming quarter. The news is coming by way of a leaked Verizon document and clearly states that;

“New Feature Phones launching during Q4 will not require a data package.”

Of course, that does not mean you will not get the hard sell from overeager Verizon employees when making a purchase. After all, they are still expected to make the offer all the same. Otherwise it looks like a few new devices that will be hitting the feature phone category in the coming months will include the Pantech Crux and the LG Octane.

And for those sporting a 3G Multimedia Phone, the $9.99 data package will still be required.
