Virgin Mobile announces upcoming Samsung Intercept availability, priced contract free at $249

Those located in the US and looking for a decent pre-paid Android handset may want to listen up for a moment, Virgin Mobile has recently announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Intercept. The handset will be available shortly, expected to arrive sometime in “mid-October” with a contract free price of $249.99. Though, while the handset will not be available with Virgin Mobile for a few weeks, you can grab it as of today at Target. Otherwise, in terms of specs, the Intercept has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera and is running Android 2.1 with full Android Market access.
