It looks like Google has released the latest breakdown in terms of market share of the various versions of Android. And coming as little surprise, Android 2.2 has been growing. The most recent numbers are showing Android 2.2 Froyo with a nice 33.4%. Of course, that is still under the current 40.4% for Android 2.1. And thankfully, the numbers that make up Android 1.6 and 1.5 are still declining. At present, 1.6 has 16.4% and 1.5 has 9.7%. Maybe we can see 1.6 finally drop down into the single digits by the next update. That said, before long we are going to see another version coming into the mix — Android 3.0.
