The little app is available again in the app store. After being available for a short time, the app was pulled for unknown reasons. It is back now with the same zero fanfare coming from Google.
The app was one that was blocked by Apple, citing the need to avoid confusion with the Maps app. As Apple’s stance has relaxed, perhaps thanks the FCC looking over Apple’s shoulder, more and more Google apps have found their way onto the app store. Another example is Google Voice.
The app is free and runs on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3rd and 4th gen iPod touch and iPad.
