Finally we’re starting to see dual-core smartphones. The “world’s first dual-core smartphone” is LG’s Optimus 2X.
LG hasn’t said much about the Optimus 2X, aside from the fact that it will use a 1 GHz dual-core nVidia AP20H processor, and will have full 1080p recording and playback. The phone will have full screen mirroring via the built-in HDMI port. It looks like the phone will also have a front-facing camera, though that isn’t nearly as new or interesting as the nVidio CPU inside.
It looks like the Optimus 2X will be running Android with LG’s Gesture UI. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some hands-on time with the device on the CES show floor tomorrow.
