Tomorrow is expected to be a big day for HTC and Verizon Wireless as Verizon’s first smartphone with LTE capability is going to be announced: the HTC Thunderbolt. For many weeks now, we have seen rumors and reports of the Thunderbolt under many names implying a CES announcement, and now that we are literally hours away from an announcement, some hands-on images have been published. AndroidSPIN was able to use the Thunderbolt from a source and they reaffirm many of its important features.
ARM v7 processor, Single Core, 1 Ghz
8 GB internal memory, (32gb sd card included)
4.3 inch screen
NO HDMI port
8 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front (We believe)
Runs the new HTC Sense UI on top of Android 2.2
HTC Maps and Navigation is included
DLNA support via an HTC preinstalled app
Unfortunately, AndroidSPIN thinks the device won’t feature a dual-core processor, which seems to be all the buzz based on the many phone announcements coming out of CES 2011. However, the fact that is has 40GB of hard drive space, 4.3 inch touch screen, a 1.3MP front facing camera, and a 8MP rear facing camera are still solid specs. The picture at the bottom represents the Thunderbolt running a Quadrant Benchmark and it shows high fast of a device the Thunderbolt is, compared to many other Android powerhouses.
