According to industry sources, HTC is expected to sell over 10 million 4G smartphones in 2011, which does not include networks such as HSPA+. Therefore, the only 4G networks included in the count result from Verizon Wireless and Sprint in the United States whom run LTE and WiMAX networks, respectively. In fact, the 10 million expected sales are only going to account for 20% of HTC’s total shipments, just to give some perspective on how many sales HTC could easily manage in 2011. Just in 2010, HTC sold 3.5 million 4G units with the bulk resulting from the HTC EVO 4G (3 million) and just half a million from the T-Mobile myTouch 4G. The mid-range HTC EVO Shift 4G and the high-end HTC Thunderbolt are going to be the first few big phones for the giant Taiwanese based electronics company.
