Anybody here remembers the affordable Android tablet called CherryPad? This Android tablet was released last year by CherryPal for a mere $188 price tag. Although it did not earn much headway back then, it didn’t stop CherryPal from coming up with a successor to the CherryPad Android tablet. So, we’ve learned via a leaked out information that the new CherryPad Android tablet is about to be announced in the coming weeks.
And what does this new CherryPad tablet is bringing in to the growing tablet market? Well, still the same 7-inch device but this time around its screen display has been bumped up to 1024×600 capacitive multi-touch display as compared to the previous 800×490 resistive display. The new CherryPad tablet will also feature front- and back-facing cameras which are VGA and 3.0MP respectively.
The CherryPad’s processor was also upgraded to a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU from the previous 800MHz processor. It will also be loaded with a 512MB RAM and 8GB to 16GB flash expandable memory and supports microSD card. Other features of the new CherryPad tablet include GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, unlocked GSM antenna, WiFi, accelerometer and light sensor. The tablet will be shipped with Android 2.2 for its OS.
Since, the tablet has improved specs and features, its price will go up as well. Reports had it that the CherryPad tablet will go for $300-400. But then again, these are unofficial information, so stick around as we get more official information about this new CherryPad tablet.
