While Verizon Wireless has released to the public that the pre-order sales for the iPhone 4 were the highest in the carrier’s history, it’s hard to gauge just how big that number is. Fortunately, an analyst from RBC Capital is claiming Verizon Wireless sold as many as 100,000 iPhones 4s in the 17 hour pre-order opportunity before the limited supplies ran out. Moving forward, by March over 2.9 million iPhone 4s could be in the hands of Verizon Wireless customers and a grand total of 11.6 million by the year’s end. It will be very interesting to see the reaction to the public when the iPhone 4 becomes available for normal retail sales on February 10.
With Apple’s famed iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless, it’s pretty hard for any other carrier to compete with their offerings of iOS and Android.
