Google introduces 2-step verification for all users

Google has announced that the 2-step verification process will soon be available for all users. Of course, some will recognize this as it was introduced for Google Apps customers a few months back. But in todays good news, it will soon be available for regular users as well.

“2-step verification requires two independent factors for authentication, much like you might see on your banking website: your password, plus a code obtained using your phone.”

Bottom line, this is probably a good idea for someone who is entrusting their Google account with lots of information — in other words, just about everyone should want this enabled. That said, keep an eye out as the 2-step verification feature will be rolling out over the course of the next few days.
