Rumors of the PlayBook have been swirling for the past few weeks pointing to an April launch. Now that launch is looking mush less likely as Sprint has finally put up a page for the PlayBook on it’s website.
The Sprint page for the BlackBerry 4G PlayBook claims that the 7-inch tablet is set to be available “this summer.” The page basically just lists the specs and features we all know by now. There’s the 7-inch screen, the dual-core 1 GHZ CPU, multitasking, dual HD cameras, Flash and the option to get other BlackBerry features like BBM and email by connecting it to a BlackBerry smartphone. Through the new site you can sign up to get updates about the device, hopefully with prices and a firmer release date.
Perhaps we’ll learn more at CTIA when it kicks off tomorrow. It seems a bit unlikely since Sprint already has a bunch of new devices to talk about at the show. If we do hear something, we’ll be sure to let you know. In the mean time RIM has given you plenty of time to debate the choice between the PlayBook, all the new Android tablets and of course the iPad 2.
