Boost Mobile customers will soon be able to get their hands on a new Android phone created by Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Prevail was revealed on Boost Mobile’s website for $179.99 with free shipping. It’ll be sold in late April online and at Boost Mobile stores. It’s a mid-range smartphone, but it gets the job done for the person who isn’t looking to have a lot of power in their pocket.
The Samsung Galaxy Prevail runs on Android 2.2, has a 3.2-inch screen and a 2 megapixel rear camera. It doesn’t look like a LED flash is present near the camera. Expect to see other features that are now standard on most phones such as GPS, stereo Bluetooth capabilities, a music player and the full web.
The Samsung Galaxy Prevail is a CDMA phone that runs on Sprint’s 3G network. It’s also a part of Boost Mobile’s $50 “Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage” plan.
Other features about the phone such as its processing speed and memory haven’t been revealed just yet. It’ll also be interesting to see is Samsung puts its TouchWiz interface over Android 2.2 this time.
