The Andi-One will put all of your household remote controls to shame. This thing has so many features, it’s very easy to overlook the fact that it’s being marketed as a universal remote. The Andi-One is powered by Android 2.1, it has a 3.5 inch capacitive touch display and can control more than 10,000 devices. The Andi-One is available right now online for $349.99. With a price that high, this remote can join the ranks of your most expensive electronics.
In addition to having the ability to control over 10,000 devices, the Andi-One can actively control 50 devices at once. Out of everything that you do, the remote will learn your actions and assumes what you would like to do next. You can also separate the devices the remote controls according to room.
Now because this remote has a pretty large screen, it’s easy to look at television listings and choose what you want to look at or record. If that’s not good enough, the Andi-One has a web browser and access to over 100,000 Android applications.
Did I mention you can make VOIP calls with this remote? Well you can.
The Andi-One’s price is almost justified for all the technology that’s built into it. At this point, all it’s missing is glasses-free 3D. It sounds like a neat device, but I’d imagine this wouldn’t be something that too many people need to buy. It doesn’t appear to have access to the entire Android Market and can’t really be seen as a core Android device. If forced to choose between this and a decent Android tablet, the tablet will win most of the time.
