Archos is currently testing out a new Android model of its Archos 7c Home Tablet. This updated model will be loaded with a more powerful 1.2GHz Rockchip 2918 ARM Cortex-A8 processor. It will also feature a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display and will be running on Android 2.3. Take note, that’s still the latest version of the Android OS meant specifically for mobile phones. This makes me wonder, why it won’t be running Android 3.0 Honeycomb, considering that the device is supposedly more powerful than its predecessor. Another issue, that you might find with this Archos tablet as in the case of others who took the plunge and got the previous models – is the lack of support for the Android Market app. So, your chances of getting some nice apps from the Android Market is by way of a hacked version. Anyway, if you don’t mind these minor setbacks, you’ll have to wait until this summer to get the new Archos 7c tablet. Expect a price point of a little more than $200.
