Scosche Industries has a new battery solution for iPhone 4 users. The switchBACK surge g4 backup battery case is available now for $79.99 from the Scosche website. Scosche says this battery will give a dead iPhone 4 up to 275 additional hours of standby time, and nine hours of video and Wi-Fi.
The battery snaps on to the back of the iPhone 4. The blue light indicator on the bottom of the battery makes the iPhone 4 look like a completely different device. The battery itself is all black, but it will come with silver and glossy black covers. The battery also comes with a built-in kickstand so you can watch videos more easily.
While providing power to the iPhone 4, the switchBACK surge g4 still allows you to recharge and sync the phone with a micro-USB cable. There’s also a free app called reVIVE that shows you how much power the battery has left for activities such as music, calls and web surfing.
The backup battery does make the iPhone 4 considerably thicker, but then again style means nothing when your phone is dead.
