As we had expected to happen, the Motorola Droid X2 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphones have come available on the Verizon website. Both handsets are priced at $199.99 on a two year agreement. The Droid X2 is available and shipping out as we speak while the Xperia Play is currently in the pre-order status with shipping expected to begin on May 25th.

Otherwise, the Droid X2 brings features to include a 4.3 inch qHD display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8GB internal storage, 8GB microSD card, 1540 mAh battery, HDMI out with 1080p compatible Mirror Mode and 8 megapixel camera with continuos auto-focus and 720p video recording.

The Xperia Play features a 4 inch display, 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon II processor with Adreno 205 GPU, slide-out game controller, 8GB of internal storage, 1500 mAh battery, front facing VGA quality camera and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with auto-focus and an LED flash.
