4GB Xbox 360

A week after Microsoft announced its free Xbox 360s for students initiative, Amazon has stepped in with a similar offer. The Xbox 360 up for grabs is still the the 4GB model. This promotion will run all the way until September 3, 2011 which is the same day Microsoft’s promotion ends. It’s just a matter of who you want to do business with.

Most of the terms and conditions for obtaining a free Xbox 360 from Amazon are identical to Microsoft’s. You have to purchase a select Windows 7 desktop or laptop computer that’s priced at $699 or more and be enrolled as a student at college. You also have to have a .edu email address and be a member of Amazon Student.

Amazon Student is free to sign up for and includes benefits such as a full year of free two-day shipping and exclusive discounts.

Within eight days of purchasing a qualified Windows 7 computer, Amazon will send emails indicating the activation of an account credit. From there, it’s a matter of clicking on the link, putting a 4GB Xbox 360 into the shopping court and completing the transaction.
