Telus has officially announced another Android smartphone, the LG Optimus Black Skype Edition. In terms of pricing and availability, the price remains a mystery however we do know that the handset will arrive sometime this summer. In the meantime, we do have some spec information to pass on. The Skype Edition of the LG Optimus Black will be running Android 2.2 Froyo and feature a 4 inch NOVA touchscreen display, 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 2 megapixel front facing camera, 1500 mAh battery. In addition, the handset will measure in at 122 x 64 x 9.2mm and weigh in at 109 grams. But perhaps more important here is the ‘Skype Edition’ portion of the name. As far as that goes, the handset will arrive with the Skype Mobile app pre-installed, of which this will also be the “first Skype-branded phone on the Canadian market.” Otherwise, users will be able to add more Skype credits directly from their Telus account and it will ship with a $2 Skype credit in the box.
