Unlocked (contract-free) iPhone 4 now available with Apple, priced at $649 and $749

We had mentioned the rumor yesterday morning, and aside from coming a day ahead of when we expected, it looks like it was indeed accurate — Apple is now selling unlocked (contract-free) iPhone 4′s here in the US. That said, the model that is available is GSM, and furthermore, if you want to use it on a 3G network then your option is limited to AT&T. But on the bright side, you will be able to take it with you and use it with overseas carriers (with a local SIM) should you find yourself traveling. That being said, the unlocked iPhone 4 is available in black and white is priced as follows — 16GB for $649 and 32GB for $749. At present, the white model is showing a 3-5 business day shipping time while the black model will arrive a bit quicker, in 1-3 business days.
