T-Mobile 4G network comes to 42 additional markets, brings double the speed [42Mbps]

T-Mobile has officially rolled out 4G in another 42 markets, which brings the total covered up to 102. In terms of the speeds, this is the T-Mobile HSPA+ network which is offering up to 42Mbps. Of course, that is assuming you have a 42Mbps capable device. In terms of the 42 new markets, those include;

Akron, Ohio; Albuquerque, N.M.; Brownsville, Texas; Cape Coral, Fla.; Canton, Ohio; Charleston-North Charleston, S.C.; Cleveland, Ohio; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Columbia, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Corpus Christi, Texas; Fayetteville, N.C.; Florence, S.C.; Fresno, Calif.; Hickory-Lenoir-Morgantown, N.C.; Killeen, Texas; Lakeland, Fla.; Las Cruces, N.M.; Madera, Calif.; McAllen, Texas; Merced, Calif.; Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Napa, Calif.; Palm Bay, Fla.; Palm Coast, Fla.; Panama City, Fla.; Pueblo, Colo.; Reading, Penn.; Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, Calif.; Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville, Calif.; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos, Calif.; Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, Calif.; Santa Fe, N.M.; Sarasota, Fla.; Sebastian, Fla.; Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, Va.; Wilmington, N.C.; Visalia-Porterville, Calif. and Waco, Texas.

Otherwise, looking forward, T-Mobile is still “expects” to have more than 150 million American’s with access to these increased 4G speeds by mid-2011. And lastly, in terms of the devices, here is the breakdown as to what T-Mobile is currently offering;

  • 4G Tablets: the Dell™ Streak™ 7 and the T-Mobile® G-Slate™ with Google™ by LG.
  • 4G Laptop Sticks: the T-Mobile Rocket® 3.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 42-capable device, the Rocket™ 2.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 21-capable device, the T-Mobile Jet® 2.0 and the prepaid T-Mobile Rocket 4G.
  • 4G Netbook & Mobile Hotspot: the Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 10 4G netbook and the T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot
