July 1 is quickly approaching, and with it comes the release of the HP TouchPad. If you’re afraid the tablet will be hard to find, you can ensure that you have a TouchPad by pre-ordering your own.
The pre-order is for the HP TouchPad with WiFI and either 16GB or 32GB of storage. The smaller capacity will cost you $499, while the 32GB will cost $599. You also have a choice of retailers for the tablet. If you’re in the US you can buy the TouchPad from Amazon, Best Buy, NewEgg, Staples, TigerDirect, and of course from HP itself. Canadian can buy their own from Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples, and HP. It seems that those in other countries like Germany, France, and the UK can only buy the TouchPad from HP.
Given the success of other tablets from Motorola, RIM and Acer among others it would be a surprise if the TouchPad sold out at release. Still, a pre-order will ensure you get one just in case, plus you don’t have to worry about driving out to Best Buy to buy it. The only downside is you won’t get to play with it first, but if you’re even considering a pre-order you probably know what you’re getting into with the WebOS tablet.
