To continue our coverage of the CommunicAsia 2011 which just ended today in Singapore, we now go to Sony Ericsson which just unveiled two new Android smartphones for their Xperia lineup. Both running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the two new phones are the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and Sony Ericsson Xperia Active. Just by looking at the product photos of these two phones, it would appear that the Xperia Active is geared more for individuals with active lifestyle, while the Xperia Ray is close to the previously released Xperia Arc and Xperia Play.
For their individual key features, we have the Xperia ray with an 8.1MP camera with Exmor R, a 3.3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA which was used previously for both the Xperia Arc and Xperia Play, and a slim form factor measuring only 9.4mm in dimension. The Sony Ericsson Xperia active on the other features a 5MP camera, 3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA and a dust proof and water resistant body. Both phones will be available sometime in Q3. Pricing details are still unknown at this time though.
