In an effort to boost revenues, Twitter is considering a bolder approach to advertising. According to the Financial Times, Twitter may decide to place advertisements inside its user’s feeds.
In doing this, Twitter could possibly stir up some anger amongst its loyal users who are used to having an nearly ad-free experience.
This change involves Twitter moving promoted tweets from its search results into the feeds of individuals who follow the brand that is sending the tweets. Users could also see promoted tweets at the top of their feeds hours after the initial tweet was sent.
Company’s could also schedule when they want their tweets to be sent in addition to having access to a Twitter page with specialized features.
Twitter is also considering pushing Groupon-like offers into feeds as well.
If all goes according to plan, these new features will debut within a couple months.
