Expansys, an independent cell phone shop in the UK, has a pre-order page live for the highly anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. The Android smartphone that was once plagued by delays resulting from the Japanese Tsunami is now on the precipice of launching in the United Kingdom. The Xperia Neo is said to begin shipping by August 4th, which means you’ll have to go another month (July) until you can get your hands on the mid-range Xperia Neo, but it should be worth the wait. Expansys is currently listing the Xperia Neo for £379.99, a price that equates to roughly $608.
In terms of specs, the Xperia Neo features a 3.7 inch touch screen display, 8MP rear facing camera, 720p video capture, VGA front facing camera, 8GB of onboard memory (via microSD card), Android 2.3, and 512MB of RAM. While its single-core 1GHz processor is not likely to blow your mind, it certainly holds it own as a mid-range device with specs that can certainly get the job done.
