Google currently activates 500,000 Android devices daily

Google’s Andy Rubin tweeted an interested message earlier today stating that Google is now activating over half a million Android devices daily. Perhaps even just as interesting is the fact that the number of activated devices per day is increasing at a rate of 4.4% week over week. There is no signs of the Android onslaught slowing down any time soon, especially considering the 4.4% growth rate. Since Rubin used the term Android devices as opposed to smartphones, it is important to remember that devices includes tablets, but I bet a large portion of 500,000 comes from smartphones.
