Telus and Rdio have recently announced a new partnership, one that should make it easier for users to make a commitment in terms of a music subscription service. Basically, this announcement will not change anything for anyone already a Rdio subscriber with Telus as their carrier. In other words, the service will remain the same whether those interested use it with Telus or direct with Rdio. In short, the Rdio service offers the user the ability to “discover, share and listen to music.” The service comes priced at $10 per month and allows the user to listen to music from the web as well as on the go with their smartphones. The difference here, and the catch for Telus customers that are not already Rdio subscribers — “direct, one-click billing.” According to the details from Telus;
“Direct, one-click billing will make it easy for TELUS customers and new Rdio subscribers to enjoy the social music service. Customers simply create a profile, download the Rdio app, and subscribe. They can then pay their monthly Rdio subscription directly through TELUS and view the charge on their TELUS bill.”
Of course, this comes with the warning, make sure to pay attention to your data limitations and make sure to not stream to the point that you send yourself into the land of overages.
