If you’re interested in picking up the new Motorola Droid 3 on Verizon Wireless by signing a new contract, I would recommend you purchase the Droid 3 through Amazon Wireless instead of directly with Verizon Wireless. The giant online retailer is currently offering the Droid 3 for only $69.99 on a two year contract, which is a savings of $130 from what you would have to pay with Verizon. If you are upgrading your phone on an individual account, the cost becomes $129, and if you are upgrading and a part of a family plan, then it is $149. The current deal from Amazon seems geared towards Verizon Wireless gaining new customers, which doesn’t really help those looking to renew/extend their contract, but at least each price is cheaper than Verizon.
Unfortunately, Droid 3 orders on Amazon are currently backordered and will ship within 8 or 9 days.
