Archos has made some price adjustments to its upcoming line of Honeycomb tablets. The lowest price for the 8-inch, dual-core 1.5Ghz tablet was originally $279. There are now three versions of the Archos 80 G9 with the lowest price starting at $299.99.
The $299 model comes with 8GB of Flash storage and a 1Ghz dual-core processor. If you want the tablet with a faster 1.5Ghz dual-core processor with 16GB of storage, it’ll cost you $329. Archos is still selling the 8-inch tablet with a 250GB hard drive. That model will cost $369.
The 10-inch G9 tablets start at $369 for the model with a 1Ghz dual-core processor and 8GB of Flash storage. The 16GB version also has a 1.0Ghz processor and costs $399.99. On the high end, $469.99 will get you the 1.5Ghz processor and the 250GB hard drive.
The entire G9 tablet lineup will include the optional 3G USB stick compartment. It still isn’t clear who will be providing the 3G or how much it will cost.
Though most of the G9 tablets are the cheapest Honeycomb tablets to date, the $469 model comes a bit close to the price of other Honeycomb tablets that are made from sturdier materials. It’s going to take some real hands-on time to determine if it’s worth the extra cost to invest in a $500 Honeycomb tablet.
