Look what we have here – a new Samsung smartphone that looks exactly like the Samsung Galaxy S II but dubbed the Samsung Galaxy R. Cnet is reporting that this new Galaxy phone, which is about to hit the UK market by end of July is the closest thing you can get to owning the Samsung Galaxy S II. There are various differences that separate this the Galaxy S II from the Galaxy R. And these include – a 4.2-inch screen size as opposed to the 4.3-inch of the SGS II. It will also be equipped with an SLCD instead of the SuperAMOLED display of the SGS II. The Galaxy R will also be slightly heavier courtesy of its metallic back as compared to the plasticky back part of the SGS II. features of the Samsung Galaxy R include – a 5MP camera that can capture 720p HD video, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8GB of built-in memory and microSD card slot. The phone will be loaded with a dual-core processor as well but we heard it’s not as powerful as the one used for the SGS II. No words yet on pricing but it will obviously be way cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S II.
