Google Maps for Android gets an update, brings Latitude and Places improvements

Google has rolled out their latest update for the Maps application on Android. This update brings the app up to version 5.8 and along with the new number, you can also expect to find some improvements in terms of the Places and Latitude integration. The new features of Google Maps version 5.8 include;
Otherwise, it was also noted that Google has added ‘Bigger text’ in the experimental Labs features and the ‘Download map area’ has been renamed ‘Pre-cache map area.’ And lastly, the Google Maps application is available for devices running Android 2.1 or later.
