Words with Friends on Facebook

Last December Zynga bought Newtoy, the company behind the popular Words with Friends game. It seemed like it would be just a matter of time until the game found it’s way to Facebook.

Words with Friends has actually had Facebook Connect capabilities for some time now, but it hasn’t yet made the leap to being available on the browser. Today that changes as Words with Friends is now available as a Facebook app. Now you’ll be able to play your Words with Friends right from your web browser through Facebook. Your same games can be -played either on the Facebook app, or the iOS and Android apps.

The big addition to the Facebook version of Words with Friends is the ability to brag to your friends over Facebook. As with most Facebook games, Words with Friends will allow you to call out your friends on the Facebook walls, so you can let everyone know just how many points your scored on that last word. Of course, you’ll also be able to get notifications of your games while your on Facebook, though you may get frustrated having multiple notifications for the same exact game. Still, it’s nice to be able to play Words with Friends on a desktop now.
