New logos for a few different Android smartphones on Sprint were recently leaked to Engadget. The logos include the Samsung Epic 4G Touch (a Galaxy S II device), the HTC EVO Design 4G, and the Motorola Admiral. By taking a quick gander at the list, you may notice almost immediately that the Motorola Admiral is lacking the tag “4G,” probably implying that it will not be a 4G capable device. In addition, we’re expecting the Admiral to be a mid-range Android device on Sprint, similar to the Photon, just with a smaller screen, single-core processor, and no WiMAX.
Now, we heard about a week ago that the Galaxy S II headed for Sprint would be known as the Epic Touch 4G, as opposed to the Within. The new logo leak reads Samsung Epic 4G Touch, so essentially, this provides stronger confirmation that it won’t launch as the Within, but as the Epic 4G Touch. No word on whether Sprint plans to call it the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch or simply the Samsung Epic 4G Touch — hopefully it will be the latter. And, finally, this brings us to the HTC EVO Design 4G. The EVO Design will likely be similar to the HTC EVO 3D, just skipping out on the 3D glasses-free display as well as the dual-core processor. It will probably join the Admiral as another solid mid-range offering from Sprint, but complete with 4G connectivity.
Now we’ll just have to keep our eyes and ears peeled for any future rumors regarding specs, availability, and pricing of these upcoming Sprint handsets.
