HTC’s big announcement: A “strategic” partnership with Beats Electronics

We knew that HTC was planning to announce something big this morning and well, it looks like the news has since hit the wire. Well, by way of the regular newswire as well as the Beats by Dr. Dre Tumblr site. That being said, while both of these sources are covering the same news, we are still uncertain if this is going to be everything that HTC announces today. After all, the news was originally expected to arrive at 8:30 PST by way of a conference call. With that, here is what we have so far. According to the details we found in the press release;

“HTC Corp., a global designer of mobile devices, today announced a strategic partnership and investment with Beats™ Electronics LLC., the company redefining the audio market with its iconic Beats by Dr. Dre™ audio experience. The two fast-growing brands will focus on bringing high performance sound to HTC phones.”
