Just a few days ago, a rumor had dropped claiming that Sprint would launch two new BlackBerry 7 devices on August 21st — namely the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and the BlackBerry Bold 9930. According to an official announcement from Sprint today, it turns out the August 21st rumored launch date is indeed true.
The BlackBerry Torch 9850 is an all-touch screen device (with a 3.7 inch display) headed for Sprint and will cost $149.99 after a $50 MIR on a two year agreement. In addition, it sports a 1.2GHz single-core processor, 5MP rear facing camera, and global capabilities.
The BlackBerry Bold 9930 sports a 2.8 inch touch screen display and a portrait facing QWERTY keyboard. It features NFC, which allows for the exchange and sharing of information across NFC-capable devices. In terms of pricing, it will be available for $249.99 on a two year contract.
Again, both devices will be available for purchase through Sprint online and retail locations on August 21st.
