I’ve been seeing a couple of my Facebook friends announcing that their Nokia phones have just been updated to Symbian Anna and they are very happy to have the upgrade. Quite honestly, I never thought that Nokia smartphone owners also have the same level of excitement as iPhone or Android phone users whenever a new software update becomes available. Anyway, if you’re one of the billions of Nokia Symbian smartphone owners, you can download the software update via the latest version of Ovi Suite (version 3.1.1) on a PC or directly to your phone over-the-air. According to Nokia, the update enhances users experience for Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia E7 owners.
Key features of Symbian Anna include – a new user interface, portrait mode of the virtual QWERTY keypad, split-screen messaging, enhanced Nokia Maps, better web browsing and stronger security. If you have the Nokia E7, the Symbian Anna software update activates the NFC hardware in your device, allowing you to simply tap on your Nokia C7 while near another Nokia C7 to share contacts, photos, videos and play games. You’ll also be able to easily pair your device with other NFC-capable Nokia accessories as well as read NFC tags for checking in and other purposes.
