The new, Android based Lenovo ThinkPad is now ready for purchase and is expected to ship on August 29th. Lenovo is currently offering three models of the ThinkPad, each of which only differ by internal storage capacity. The 16GB ThinkPad retails for $499, the 32GB model retails for $569, and the 64GB model retails for $669. In terms of specs, each model features a 10.1 inch touch screen display with 1280 x 800 resolution, 1GB of RAM, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor, 5MP rear facing camera, 2MP front facing camera, and runs Android 3.1.
While the ThinkPad features some solid specs, I think the high price point will likely be a deal breaker for many, especially in wake of HP’s recent fire-sale of the $99 TouchPad.
