Even though September 1st is reportedly being set aside as a Windows Phone 7 Mango event by HTC, they may announce a new Android handset in the form of the HTC EVO Design 4G expected to launch on Sprint. We had seen the name/logo leak a few weeks ago, but today, we’re hearing information in terms of its specs and an image render.
The HTC EVO Design 4G is something I’d like to call a high-end mid-range Android smartphone. Its specs aren’t drool-worthy, but they are definitely powerful enough to last for two years. While it may not include a dual-core processor, it features the next best thing — a single core 1.2GHz processor. In addition, it boasts 768MB of RAM, Android 2.3.4, 5MP rear facing camera, a front facing camera, and 4G connectivity. The screen is rumored to be a 4 inch qHD display. As of now, it is expected to be announced by HTC on September 1st with the official Sprint announcement of pricing and availability shortly after that.
Hopefully Sprint can keep the subsidized price low, as it should be a hit with the budget-conscious crowd.
