Sony Ericsson is about to make all its smartphones under the Xperia series more interesting and functional by way of pushing Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread to these phones come October. If you own any of the Sony Ericsson Xperia smartphones that were released in 2011, you’ll get the software update and enjoy some great new features that Android Gingerbread will bring to your device. This also marks the start of Sony Ericsson’s thrusts in bringing in more Android 2.3.4-powered smartphones beginning with the soon to be released Xperia Neo.
So if you own any of the Xperia smartphones released in 2011, you’ll soon enjoy great new features such as Sony Ericsson’s very own Facebook inside Xperia feature. According to Sony Ericsson, Facebook Inside Xperia allows you to share, like and discover on Facebook faster, easier and in a more intuitively. The update will also enhance your phone’s camera functionality and let you capture and view photos in 3D by connecting your phone to a 3D TV through HDMI output. Of course, the update will also enable Google Talk with video chat on your Xperia phone.
As this is about to happen, Sony Ericsson also introduced the latest Xperia phones to come out in the market with the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread as its OS. This is the new Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V. This new handset will have all the features we just mentioned plus other features including Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, 3.7-inch capactive touchscreen display, DNLA, and more.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V will be available in select markets starting in the 4th quarter. While the software upgrade for Xperia 2011 phones will begin by October 2011. You’ll receive notification containing the instructions on how to update your phone to Android 2.3.4.
