Philips unveils the Android 2.3 GoGear Connect 3 portable media player

It looks like Philips has recently unveiled their latest portable media player — the Philips GoGear Connect 3. This device is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread running portable media player with a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display. That being said, there are still some details missing — notably the pricing, release date and most of the specs. Aside from the version of Android and the size of the display, Philips also noted that the GoGear Connect 3 will have Wi-Fi connectivity, support 720p video playback and as you can see from the above image, it will arrive sporting Android Market access. Otherwise, the finder points were mentioned as being;

  • Customizable home screen, keyboard and widgets
  • Use as mass storage device
  • Easy access to the Android market without need of credit card details
  • Unlimited gaming fun

And lastly, the Philips GoGear Connect 3 will also have the SimplyShare app which will allow you to connect to a wide variety of devices using DLNA connectivity and the PMP will ship with Philips Songbird software which will allow the user to transfer audio to and from the device and their computer.
