Some good news for those using Evernote on a free account — the restrictions in terms of which file types you could use have been removed. Yup, both free and paid Evernote users can now have notes with any file type attached.
Life has enough complicated rules to keep track of, so we like to simplify wherever we can. In that spirit, we’re happy to say that we’ve just simplified how file attachments work for Free users. As many of you know, Free users had been previously limited to putting only text, image, audio and PDF files into their notes. That restriction is now gone, so both Free and Premium users can attach any type of file to a note. Easy Peasy.
Of course, we should point out, free users still have the 60MB per month and 25MB per file restrictions in place as compared to 1GB per month and 50MB per file for paid subscribers. But that being said, aside from a lower amount of upload capability on the free accounts, it looks like another perk of being a paid user has been removed.
