T-Mobile Galaxy S 2

The T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II was nowhere to be seen during the IFA conference in Berlin despite well publicized appearances from its Sprint and AT&T counterparts. It was soon revealed that T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II is not using the same Samsung 1.2GHz Exynos processor as the other versions, and that is why it was absent from the show. Samsung and T-Mobile have been silent on officially revealing what the new processor is, but the news may have been broken over Twitter.

Samsung’s Galaxy S support Twitter page responded to an inquiry about which processor the T-Mobile Galaxy S II will have. Samsung responded by saying, “The Samsung #GalaxyS2 comes with a 1.5 dual core Qualcomm APQ8060 processor.”

It was always suspected T-Mobile would be using a Qualcomm processor for the Galaxy S II. This processor will help the device reach theoretical speeds of 42Mbps. If true, the Galaxy S II could have the fastest data speeds of any other phone on T-Mobile.

The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II will be available during the fall.
