Google has rolled out the latest update in terms of Goggles for Android. The update arrives as version 1.6 and remains available only for Android devices running OS 2.1 (Eclair) or later. The new feature include the ability to search from the camera which according to Google means that “you can now set up Google Goggles to automatically run on photos taken with your camera app.” In other words, Google, by way of Goggles, will help to identity object such as landmarks or other important objects that may be in your images. That being said, this feature will need to be turned on. To do so, fire up the Goggles app and navigate to Menu -> Settings and then check the box for “Search from Camera.” And nicely done, there is also the option to further customize when the searches will take place such as whether on wi-fi or a cellular connection and being able to disable when roaming.
