T-Mobile is out of the 2011 iPhone 5 race

It seems very likely that T-Mobile USA will be the only major carrier in the United States that won’t get the iPhone 5 this year. An image sent to Tmo News contained information that was relayed to employees during a Town Hall meeting on September 15. T-Mobile’s chief marketing officer Cole Brodman spoke about some of the successes that T-Mobile has had, but his comment about the iPhone 5 stands out above everything else. “We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year,” Brodman said.

As disappointing this may be for T-Mobile customers, there was never any strong indication that T-Mobile USA would get the iPhone. The carrier has seen more than willing to accommodate customers who already have iPhones by selling micro SIM cards. T-Mobile also isn’t ashamed that over a million iPhones are running on its network.

On the plus side, T-Mobile is prepared to release a couple new smartphones this holiday season. Those two phones may very well be the Tmo News]
