Last week, a Pocket Gamer report pointed to an October 5 media event that would be used to officially reveal the next iPhone. The report also said the iPhone 5 would become available the following week. In true iPhone rumor fashion, different sources have concluded a different reveal date.
Sources for AllThingsD are saying the big iPhone 5 reveal will take place October 4. The iPhone would then become available to purchase a few weeks after the event.
While there is still no indication on the day the iPhone 5 will go on sale, it is a very high possibility it will be in October. At least that’s what Sprint is planning for.
This event will also be headed up by Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook. This gives Cook the opportunity to make a positive first impression to the public as the new leader of Apple.
