We’re just a few days away from the official start of Fall which means it’s just about time for Windows Phone Mango. If you’re waiting for the next major update to Windows Phone 7 is, you won’t need much longer as the update should be out in “the next week or two.”
According to the Windows Phone Blog, Mango is just about ready to begin rolling out to existing Windows Phones. To make sure you’re ready for the update, make sure you have updates Zune on your PC or Windows Phone 7 Connector on your Mac. The update will be sent to you through the software, not OTA, just like the NoDo update before it. The update will also include software from handset manufacturers that will be tailor-made for each phone. Because of that Microsoft is warning against upgrading using homebrews or leaked ROMs. It also probably means that the roll out will be staggered with different phones getting it at different times.
To help you keep track of which phone has the update and which does not, Microsoft will be updating the “Where’s my Update?” page as as Mango starts rolling out. We’ll also be sure to keep you updated here when the upgrade becomes available. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on all those cool new features.
