Spotify claims 1 million more users since Facebook integration

Spotify’s grand scheme to gain more users by tying its service in with Facebook is apparently paying off. According to MusicAlly, Spotify has seen a huge increase in users since offering new users six months of service. Approximately 1 million active users have signed up since f8, which is around 250,000 new users per day.

Not everyone was happy to learn Spotify will only accept new users as long as they have a Facebook account. However, that doesn’t seem to have affected Spotify’s recruitment at all. Inside Facebook reports Spotify’s daily users shot up immensely right after f8. As of today, Spotify’s daily user count isn’t nearly as high, but it is still higher than it was prior to the f8 announcement. Today, Spotify has nearly 1.5 million daily users.

Spotify has made signing up very easy by allowing new users to log in with their Facebook accounts. The music users are automatically sharing with friends is also a big reason why Spotify has seen such large growth in a short period of time.
